Qualifications and Skills
30+ years of experience in all aspects of the building process, covering domestic and commercial sectors; including key management roles, with a strong emphasis on practical solutions to problem-solving. A dedicated results-driven team player who takes pride in a job well done.
Originally qualified as a Quantity Surveyor, I appreciate the practical hands-on nature of the building process. In an effort to understand the complexities of the built environment, I have acquired knowledge and skills in:
- Traditional blacksmithing
- Woodwork – both decorative and structural
- Drone piloting
As advancements in technology have promoted a safer and speedier workflow, I have adopted new technologies where appropriate into my skills library. This mix of traditional and high tech skills and knowledge allow me to offer my clients the ability to bridge skills and technology gaps within their company on an ad hoc basis with minimal investment.
With a focus on bespoke inspections and simplifying complex problems, my solutions provide safety, speed and cost savings; helping my clients adhere to regulations, be more profitable and turn projects around quickly.
Life outside of work is important too!
Life in the fast lane
A life-long fan of all things mechanical and especially motorcycles. I have owned numerous motorcycles, from small mopeds to 2 litre Harley Davidsons. One of the highlights of my motorcycling life was a tour around the US on a Harley Davidson.
Fixing things as a hobby
Antique Gun restoration
This antique gun was broken into two pieces and had been treated poorly. I completed a full restoration of all wooden and metal parts while keeping as much of the original as possible. The finished article made a fine decorative piece which will continue to look good for decades to come.
My favourite form of horse power!
A life-long equestrian
Horses have always been a part of my life. Although I do not find as much opportunity to ride these days, I am still very passionate about horses, the sport and horsey life.
